Mad River Community Hospital Sells Fresh Produce at Farm Stand

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — The Mad River Community Hospital up in Arcata held a farm stand featuring fresh fruits and veggies from their on-site farm today.

Those that stopped by the garden court café at the hospital could pick up some fresh produce. Everything sold is grown at the hospital’s two acre farm that is on site. People also saw lower prices than traditional farmer’s markets.

The stand sold everything to fruits like strawberries and blueberries to vegetables such as cauliflower, cucumbers, zucchini, and green onions. According to one of the farmers, Jayme Buckley, it’s all about making fresh produce available to the hospital and surrounding community.

If you didn’t get a chance to stop by today, the hospital holds the farm stand every Wednesday from 11 am to 2 pm until September.
