Children Compete at this Year’s Fortuna Junior Rodeo

Fortuna, Ca. (KIEM) — Today, kids of all ages came out to Rohner Park for this year’s 26th annual Fortuna Junior Rodeo. Roughly 180 kids are competing this year.

The rodeo kicked off at 10 am and is one of the largest youth rodeos in the state of California. It featured a variety of events for kids to compete in. These include barrel racing, pole bending, roping, and many more.

According to one of the arena directors, Alek Funk, it’s a family friendly event and they’re excited to see so many young people interested in rodeo. We’ll have more from the youth rodeo for you coming up on our sporting youth segment on Monday.
