Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Helps Humboldt CERT Coalition

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM)– The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office helped out the Humboldt Community Emergency Response Team Coalition in a big way.

Humboldt CERT Coalition sent a proposal this year to the Measure Z Committee requesting specialized equipment to help in emergency disasters.

Due to the mass amount of proposals submitted, Measure Z did not have enough funds to help CERT.

Sheriff Honsal heard about this and recognized the need for volunteer teams to be equipped with the right tools to save lives. The Sheriff’s Office decided to offer two-thirds of the original request, purchasing generators, handheld radios, EZ-up canopies and triage tarps for CERT emergency response.
