Crescent City Searches For Next Police Chief

CRESCENT CITY, Ca (KIEM)– Crescent City Police Chief Ivan Minsal is set to hang up his badge in September, and the city is now on the search for his replacement.

Minsal, who has spent the last four and a half years serving Crescent City announced his retirement last month. If Minsal’s replacement is not found before his last day, the city will have an interim chief. Mayor Blake Inscore says the city wants the right candidate for the job.

“From my perspective as a council member, I’m not in a hurry to make the hire. I would like to have somebody in place if we could. Chief Minsal leaves big shoes to fill, and we want to make sure that we put the right person into that job,” said Blake Inscore Crescent City Mayor.

“I don’t know if I’m going to come back and be an interim chief or something like that, said Ivan Minsal Crescent City Police Chief. But I would be willing to offer my perspective on something. You don’t forget it all after 38 years, and I have a deep affection for the community.
