SCRAP Humboldt Plans to Give Back to 25 Humboldt County Teachers

ARCATA (KIEM) – With back to school right around the corner, an Arcata art store is helping out schools across Humboldt County by giving away free materials to public school teachers.

SCRAP Humboldt is giving away supplies to twenty-five teachers. Teachers will have a chance to get items such as markers, pencils, pen, and notebooks just to name a few.

Some schools that are signed up include Blue Lake School, Peninsula Union Elementary, Toddy Thomas Middle School, and Eureka High School. SCRAP was started by a group of teachers in Portland twenty years ago.

SCRAP Humboldt Malia Matsumoto Director says, this is a good way to give back to teachers.

Space is filling up quickly and if you want to learn more about the event, you can check out SCRAP Humboldt’s Facebook or go on their website www.scraphumboldt.org
