Trinidad Special meeting to discuss general plan update and water policy

TRINIDAD, Ca (KIEM)– The Trinidad City Council and Planning Commission are having a special meeting for the general plan update and discussing water policy.

The city’s current general plan was adopted approved over 40 years ago. So moving forward, the Council and Planning Commission are going to talk progress and process on some specific issue.

One of the big ones is water policy, and the services they can provide to those that want to use Trinidad’s water source.

“Well, most of its since 1978. Otherwise, parts of it have been changed and modified, but we want to get it all approved as a whole. So, it’s going to be based upon the studies that we currently have, so once those studies come through, they’ll help determine exactly what we can do. At least we’ll have in place a general policy of what the Council would like to see if we had enough water,” said Eli Naffah Trinidad City Manager.

The Trinidad special meeting is Wednesday at 6 p.m in Town Hall.
