Fire Restrictions at Six Rivers National Forest to Take Effect Starting Tomorrow

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM) – Fire restrictions will got into effect at Six Rivers National Forest starting August 1.

Six Rivers National Forest says, it’s that time of the year where the weather is hot and dry, and all it takes is one spark to create a wildfire. Fire restrictions at the forest include limiting open campfires, not using explosives such as fireworks, and limiting using of open flame tools.

But exemptions include lanterns or portable stoves using gas, jellied petroleum, or pressurized liquid with a valid freeCalifornia campfire permit.

Additional restrictions may be put in place as the summer progresses.
