Alert Citizens Results in Two Arrests

ARCATA (KIEM)– Two Eureka residents are behind bars all thanks to the help of a watchful citizen.

Saturday, Arcata Police responded to the 13-hundred block of Q Street for a report of a white pickup truck pulling a trailer that struck a fence and fled.

The truck was located shortly after. The driver has been identified as 33-year-old Blake Moreland and the passenger as 25-year-old Amber Dominguez.

During the investigation, officers learned the truck had been reported stolen as well as a motorcycle in the bed of the trunk and the trailer had just been stolen from a business he was seen fleeing.

Moreland has been charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, felon in possession of a firearm, and felony committed while released on bail.

Dominguez has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
