Stapp Scheduled Arraignment Wednesday

EUREKA (KIEM)- A Fields Landing man is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday on charges of gross vehicular manslaughter, felony drunk driving and hit-and-run.

The charges were filed last week by the District Attorney’s Office.

Back on June 28^th, Ryder Stapp was celebrating his 25th birthday when his Ford F-250 struck a house on Humboldt Hill Road, killing the 64-year-old man and injuring his wife.

The couple were longtime owners of Humboldt Lock and Safe in Eureka and has closed indefinitely.

Stapp was arrested on the scene posted $175,000 bail within 12 hours. It is up for question if the prosecuting staff will ask for a nail increase.
