MIRANDA, Ca (KIEM)-It continues to be a numbers game in southern Humboldt. With fewer players, South Fork made the decision two years ago to move to eight-man football.

So far, the move had paid off as the Cubs have enjoyed success on the gridiron. They’ve reached the NCL-3 title game twice and won the championship in 2017.

While some key players have graduated, this year’s squad is an experienced bunch. South Fork starts its season with two straight home games. First up is Cornerstone Christian on August 23.
