Cannabis Facility in Arcata seeks Use Permit

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) Arcata City Staff is asking for the Planning Commission to approve the proposed Use Permit for a cannabis facility within the city.

The applicant seeks a permit for a cannabis processing, distribution, and manufacturing facility in the city’s Cannabis Innovation Zone along Ericson Way.

Cannabis processing may include trimming of raw cannabis for the purpose of producing packaged and labeled flower and pre-roll products for sale to retailers.  Manufacturing may include volatile extraction techniques to produce live resin.  Distribution will support transport, arrangements for testing, and quality assurance review of cannabis goods.

According to the city, no on-site cannabis cultivation is proposed and the property currently is developed with a 4,000 square ft. light industrial building.
