City of Eureka to discuss potential Verizon Cell Tower Plan and location

Eureka, Ca.,(KIEM) A meeting to determine whether or not will the water tower in Eureka get a new Verizon Wireless cell phone facility.

The cell phone tower is said to improve mobile service in the area.

According to a city staff report, the plan includes eight antennas and 12 remote radio heads to be installed.

According to the same report; the applicant, Verizon, assured that the facility is compliant with the FCC guidelines, which refers to the emissions effect on the environment, from FCC-Regulated transmitters.

The Eureka Planning Commission meets on Monday, August 12 at 5:30 PM at Eureka City Hall.
