The Humboldt County Office of Education Recruiting Volunteers to Join in Early Literacy Training Program

EUREKA (KIEM) – The Humboldt County Office of Education is searching for volunteers to help kids in their math and reading skills.

The Office of Education serves over 30 different school districts. Volunteers would work one-one-one with kids, with students from TK through 2nd grade.

Early literacy administrative assistant, Olivia Kernan says, one-on-one tutoring is one of the most effective methods to help younger kids and by giving them that focus it gives them confidence in their math and reading skills.

The training is on August 27th at the Humboldt County Office of Education and is free and open to anyone who wants to participate.

If you would like to learn more about being a volunteer, you can contact Olivia Kernan at (707) – 445-7007 or email okernen@hcoe.org.
