CR Football opens training camp

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM)-With Humboldt State dropping football, CR is the only college program on the North Coast. The Corsairs had their first official practice Monday afternoon on campus.

Head coach Frank Borba welcomed around 80 players. There are many jobs up for grabs including four players who are vying for the starting quarterback position. The Corsairs look to improve on last year’s 3-7 record.

They begin the new season September 7 at Monterey Peninsula.  Borba said experience is key for CR as the team returns a large group of sophomores.
