RIO DELL, Ca (KIEM) – With the Danco Housing Project underway, a workshop will take place in Rio Dell for those that are homeless or at risk.
The City says they want to take people off the streets and put them into stable housing. Experts from the County’s Mobile Intervention and Services Team will be there to engage those with mental illness and substance use disorders. Also, one-on-one assistance at City Hall will be available for those that need help with Section 8 applications.
“What we’re trying to do is be proactive in terms of addressing this problem. Try to make the best of the projects that are going on in town. Try to make them benefit Rio Dell and the homeless who are already here in Rio Dell. Or those who are in a situation of housing stress,” said Kyle Knopp, Rio Dell City Manager.
The Housing Assistance Workshop is Thursday at 8:30 a.m. inside Journey Church on 95 Belleview Avenue.
