Arcata Police Giving Away Free Bicycle Helmets for Kids

Arcata, Ca. (KIEM) – The Arcata Police Department is now offering free bicycle helmets for children in the community. The helmets are all thanks to a large donation the department received from generous residents. An assortment of sizes for children are available.

APD wants to make sure that children who may not be able to afford a helmet are able to get one, and so far, have seen a positive response from the community.

They hope this giveaway will help promote bicycle safety in the city. If you’d like a free bike helmet, you can stop by the APD station or give them a call at (707) 882-2428. Remember, ride safe and always wear a helmet.
