Humboldt State University Celebrates Re-Opening of Gist Hall after Months Long Closure

ARCATA (KIEM) – Humboldt state celebrated the re-opening of Gist Hall just in time for the fall semester.

On Monday, final test results revealed that no asbestos fibers were detected in the air. Back in May, the University shutdown Gist Hall after the possible presence of disturbed asbestos.

Final were forced to be re-located to other parts of campus. A student production of Fantastic Mr. Fox was moved to North Coast Repertoire Theater. Gist Hall is the home of The Lumberjack Newspaper, theater, and student advising center. It’s also houses various deans’ offices.
