Search Continues for Missing Blue Lake Man, 60 Search and Rescue members join search

Trinity County, Ca., (KIEM) The search continues for Blue Lake resident, Daniel Komins, who was last seen on August 11 in the Trinity Alps.

According to the Trinity County’s Sheriff’s Office, approximately sixty search and rescue members are currently involved in the search effort.

Officials say twenty of the members were assigned to operations, logistics, and command related tasks, while the rest of the search and rescue members are on foot and were divided into twelve teams to search the last known place Komins was.

A helicopter will also be active throughout the night conducting an infrared helicopter flight.

Komins was last seen on Sunday, August 11 when he and other hikers were making their way up to Thompson Peak. He then went on a solo trek on Canyon Creek Trail.

Komin was supposed to return on Wednesday, August 14.
