Vegetation fire burns 15 acres in Mad River

MAD RIVER, Ca (KIEM)-Firefighters are getting the upper hand on a vegetation fire in Trinity County.

The 15-acre fire was reported Sunday afternoon south of Trinity High School on Van Duzen Road.

Firefighters from Cal Fire, Six Rivers National Forest and local volunteer departments responded to the scene.  Air tankers and helicopters were used to bring the blaze under control.

The cause is under investigation.
