EUREKA (KIEM) – The Clara May Berry Park will soon be getting a new look, thanks to grant funding from the National Recreation and Park Association and The Walt Disney Company.
The City received $30,000. Eureka was one of the twenty-five cities to receive funding.
The Clara May Berry Park sits right next to the Humboldt County library and will be transformed into a new sensory playground. It’s will also be an inclusive park for kids with cognitive disabilities.
The site will include rockers, climbers, spinners and a safety fence. It will also be an area where kids will not only play but they can learn about bees.
The city says, with the re-design of the playground they hope to bring back kids to the area.
The total cost of the project is $60,000.
Construction is expected to last until December.
