Arcata Fire District respond to vegetation fires in Arcata, Manila

Humboldt County, CA. (KIEM) Police are looking for a potential suspect who officials say may have started two fires Tuesday night.

Arcata fire district responded to two vegetation fires.

The first fire occurred around 9:30 Tuesday night on Miller Road in Arcata.

Fire officials say the fire was located near two residences but was slow-moving and not considered an immediate threat.

The fire was approximately 50×50 feet in size.

The second fire, officials say, occurred 2 hours after the Arcata fire in Manila near New Navy Base Road.

According to fire crews, both fires occurred along transient travel routes are believed to be related and intentionally started by the same person.

Officials say the potential suspect is a white male adult, 6’0″, 185 lbs., brown hair with a ponytail, thin mustache and possibly has a goatee.
