Plane Slides off Runway, Catches Fire in Oroville

Oroville, Ca. (KIEM) — A small plane slides off the runway and catches fire at the Oroville Municipal Airport Wednesday.

The pilot of a twin-engine Cessna Citation jet aborted takeoff for unknown reasons shortly before noon. The aircraft slid off the end of the runway into the grass and caught fire. There were 10 people on board, but no reports of any injuries. The plane was flying from Oroville to Portland International Airport.

The FAA and NTSB are investigating the cause of the accident. The identities of people involved in the crash are not available.
