Timber Heritage Association Holds Annual Salmon, Oysters, Ales, and Rails Event

Samoa, Ca. (KIEM) — In Samoa, the timber heritage association held their annual Salmon, Oysters, Ales, and Rails BBQ and open house fundraising event Saturday.

The fundraiser kicked off at 11:30 am at the Roundhouse and was run entirely by volunteers.  Those that attended could grab a BBQ salmon meal, some oysters, or a cold beer from local vendors. Attendees also had the chance to tour the shops, take a look at some of the historical railroad memorabilia, listen to live music, or even catch a ride on the speeder car.

According to the president of the Timber Heritage Association, Saturday’s proceeds will go towards creating a museum and excursion train through Humboldt County. If you missed out on today’s fun, the timber heritage association offers speeder car rides the 4th Saturday of every month.
