New Reggae Music Festival coming to Blue Lake

Blue Lake, Ca., (KIEM) A new reggae music festival is coming to the town of Blue Lake after the cancellation of Humboldt’s Reggae On The River.

Back in June, Reggae On The River was canceled due to expenses.

Now, a new music festival titled Funk and Reggae is planning to come to Perigot Park in Blue Lake.

According to Blue Lake Parks And Recreation some Blue Lake residents have a few concerns about the music festival coming to their town, such as the loud music and late-night partying.

The park and recreation director said the town and festival organizers are coming together to work out all of the details.

Right now, the festival will have on-site camping on Torg Field. Campers will also have to adhere to a 10 PM noise ordinance. The event will also include a kid’s zone, arts and crafts booths, local food vendors, a beer and wine garden and a 30-foot projection dome.

Funk and Reggae will be September 14 and 15.

If you have any questions, Blue Lake residents are encouraged to attend the Blue Lake City Council meeting on Tuesday, August 27 at 6:30 PM  at the Skinner store building.
