Siskiyou County, Ca. (KIEM) — With a forecast for high temperatures, windy conditions, and potential thunderstorms this week, Cal Fire is bringing in additional staffing to be prepared. Cal Fire’s Siskiyou County unit has brought in additional engines, hand crews, and other resources.

Now, they have a total of 19 engines, 6 hand crews, 3 dozers, 1 helicopter, and 3 lookouts staffed. Cal Fire also reminds the public that residential burn permit suspension is still in place, equipment use is recommended to be done before 10 am, and cutting, grinding, or welding of metal needs a valid permit.

The fire agency urges the public, if you see smoke or a fire, report it immediately by calling 911.
