Humboldt County Drug Task Force Conducts Largest One-Time Methamphetamine Seizure

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM) — Approximately 20 pounds of methamphetamine is off the streets thanks to the Humboldt County Drug Task Force.

After a year-long investigation, task force agents identified 35-year-old Fidel Contreras as a key suspect in methamphetamine in Humboldt County. A search warrant was secured for Contreras’s vehicle and residence.

When agents searched his vehicle, they located roughly 20 pounds of methamphetamine. When they searched his residence, they found over $35,000 believed to be profits from narcotics sales.

He was arrested and booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for possession and transportation of controlled substances. This investigation resulted in the largest one-time seizure of methamphetamine in the history of the task force.
