Mural and Utility Box Painted by Long Beach Based Artist Vandalized

EUREKA (KIEM) – Graffiti and vandalism strikes again in Eureka, but this on a mural & utility box both made by Long Beach artist Dave Van Patten.

The mural was painted during the Eureka Street Art Festival back in August.

It’s been spray painted with a message that reads “Go Back to LA” along with “Real Street Art” on top of it. Van Patten’s utility box has a spiral graffiti over it.

The mural is located on 6th and F Street right next to A&J Ichiban, while the box sits on the corner of 5th and F Street.

Eureka resident Kylie Furman says, she’s heartbroken that someone would tag another artist’s work.
