10-Year Master Plan in works for Crescent City Fire Department

CRESCENT CITY, Ca (KIEM) – The City of Crescent City is coming up with a 10-Year Master Plan for the Fire and Rescue Department.

In 2015 there was an operational merger between the Crescent City Volunteer Fire Department and the Fire Protection District. It’s now known as the Fire and Rescue Department. The jurisdiction still exists.

 Moving forward, they want to look at how they can grow the organization to meet the demands of Crescent City residents over the next ten years, especially call volume. One of the biggest challenges is the recruitment and retention of volunteer firefighters.
