Area 1 Agency on Aging gives tips on showing love to Grandparents

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM) – This Sunday is Grandparent’s Day, and the Area 1 Agency on Aging has some tips for you on how to show some love for our grandparents!

Area 1 says that grandparents want interaction with people instead of gifts.

One-on-one contact and spending time with them is how you can make grandma or grandpa feel special. Area 1 Agency on Aging does offer resources through its Ombudsman program for your elderly loved one to be in the right hands.

“We advocate for seniors living in assisted living and long-term care facilities. We are the voice. Most of them need somebody to speak for them. We’re there to make sure that they get a quality of care, quality of life. Make sure they know what their rights are,” said Leanne Langston, Volunteer Coordinator.
