Eureka Public Works Repairing Road on 8th and Myrtle Avenue

EUREKA (KIEM) – If 8th Street and Myrtle Avenue is part of your daily route, The City of Eureka is advising drivers to plan ahead when heading in that direction.

Maintenance crews by the intersection are working to repair a sinkhole. After inspecting the area, Public Works said the sinkhole was caused by an underlying storm drain The City will be setting up a bypass road which help ease and congest traffic around the construction site.

But they are advising motorists to find alternate ways to head into the area.

Public Works says, they hope to complete the repairs before winter.
