PG&E Replacing Gas Lines in Downtown Eureka

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Starting Thursday, PG&E is replacing the gas distribution lines that run through Downtown Eureka. It’s part of the pipeline replacement project.

While crews are working, they may vent the gas line, but will follow all necessary safety requirements. The natural gas that will be released will not be harmful. According to PG&E, gas service to customers will not be impacted during the project.

Crews will be working along H, I, J, and K Streets from 2nd to 4th Street. Drivers are warned there may be some road closures and delays. Construction will take place Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
