San Francisco airport runway to reopen early

MCKINLEYVILLE, CA (KIEM)-There’s good news for North Coast air travelers who use San Francisco International Airport.

On Wednesday, airport officials said the runway reconstruction project will be finished by Thursday night. That’s a full week ahead of its original completion date.

The project has impacted the Humboldt County Airport in McKinleyville. They had to cancel ten flights last week because of the construction.

The runway has been closed since September 7.
