Two people die in eastern Humboldt crash on 299

WILLOW CREEK, Ca (KIEM)-Two people are dead after a crash in eastern Humboldt County.  It happened just before noon Wednesday on State Route 299 west of Willow Creek.

The California Highway Patrol said a Mazda sedan was driving eastbound at an unsafe speed on the wet roadway. The driver lost control and went into the westbound lane and collided with an armored truck driven by 35 year-old Bradley Huss of Redding.

Both the driver and passenger who are both foreign nationals died at the scene. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.  

Huss sustained minor injuries in the crash.

The CHP said Huss sustained minor injuries and alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
