Eureka High Students Celebrate California Native American Day

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Students from Eureka High School’s multicultural and Native American clubs came together today to teach others about Native American culture and heritage. It was all in celebration of California Native American Day.

At lunchtime, club members were dressed in traditional regalia and gave presentations on what each piece of clothing means and its cultural significance. Students were also able to try some native jellies and teas that were available.

One club member says she loves being involved in events like this because she is Native American and loves sharing her culture with others. They will be holding a traditional brush dance performance and school wide assembly in November.
