Eureka City Council Talks Housing, Public Transportation at October Meeting

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — The Eureka City Council was busy Tuesday night as they addressed housing and public transit at their October meeting.

The evening started off with a special session on the draft eureka housing element. No action was taken, but staff was directed to collect more information on city owned properties and how many units they could support.

A public hearing was held on un-met transit needs here on the North Coast. The biggest concerns were not enough bus stops and inconsistent route schedules.

The council also approved the purchase of a new fire engine for Humboldt Bay Fire.
