Sunday kicks off Fire Prevention Week

Humboldt County, Ca., (KIEM) Sunday kicked off Fire Prevention Week across the U.S.

During the week, fire departments throughout the country reach out to the public and talk about important fire safety information.

Many departments provide open house events and invite residents to their stations so they can get safety tips and interact with personnel.

Arcata Fire District had an open house event Saturday.
