PG&E Plans For Possible Public Safety Power Shutoff, Could Effect 30 Counties

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA (KIEM)– PG&E is gearing up for another potential Public Safety Power Shutoff that could affect 30 northern California counties.

PG&E announced they are continuing to monitor the potential of dry, strong wind planning to sweep through in the middle of the week.

Due to the forecasted extreme weather conditions, PG&E is considering proactively turning off power for safety, implementing PSPS across approximately 30 counties.

Humboldt County will not be affected but nearby counties include Mendocino, Shasta, and Tehama.

The electrical company will continue to monitor weather conditions.
