Loleta, Ca., (KIEM) Loleta Volunteer Fire Department’s largest fundraiser of the year came to an end Sunday after three days.
The funds raised at the Antique Show goes toward training and equipment needs for the fire department.
The Chairperson of the three day event said the fundraiser brings in thousands of dollars, annually, but said the numbers were low this year due to the PGE Power Shut Off.
“I think that everything that’s happened in the community this week has had a direct impact with people having to buy generators, extra food, and different types of things to stay going,” said Chairperson, Meredith Biasca. “This is like an outing for a lot of these people. It’s that whole community thing. Everybody loves to get together, it’s just great”
Biasca added, they couldn’t do it without the community.
