As Election Season Draws Near, Humboldt County Gets New Voting Machines

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM) – Election season is drawing near, and soon candidates will be in full swing during the campaign season.

But before that can happen, Humboldt County will be receiving new voting machines and software.

Back in February, the County was notified that the current voting systems were decertified by the state. In a 4-to-1 vote, during last week’s Board of Supervisors meeting, it was decided that Hart InterCivic will be the new voting system.

The candidate filing period is November 12th. The primary elections are set for March 2020.
