Newsom Asking PG&E To Credit Customers for Power Shutoff

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA (KIEM)– Governor Newsom is asking PG&E to pay customers who lost power last week during the state’s largest public safety power shutoff.

The governor sent a letter to Bill Johnson, the Chief Executive of PG&E, asking the company to provide a bill credit or rebate worth one-hundred dollars for residential customers and two-hundred and fifty dollars for small businesses.

Newsom claims the shutoffs affected too many customers for an extended period of time and that it is clear the electricity company implemented them “with astounding neglect and lack of preparation.”
