Cardboard Silhouettes Stand Outside of Humboldt County Courthouse for Domestic Violence Awareness Month

EUREKA (KIEM) – Cardboard silhouettes stood outside of the Humboldt County Courthouse to bring awareness to domestic violence and how it impacts where we live.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. To shed light on the issue, thirty cardboard silhouettes silently stood outside of the steps of the Courthouse. Each cutout represents the life of a victim who lived here in the county. The victims ranged from women, to children, and even men.

Each silhouette had a shield pinned to a silhouette cutout, a black border shows that victim died while living here in Humboldt. While a blue border shows that victim is an exception.
