Arcata City Staff want Design Review Permit for the Isackson’s multi-family housing project

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) Next week, Arcata City Staff will recommend that the city’s planning commission approves a permit for a multi-family affordable housing project.

City staff wants a Design Review Permit that will allow the development and operation of the Isackson’s multi-family housing project.

The applicant seeks to develop 44 units on a commercial property in the city’s downtown area. 

The four-story building will contain 43 income-restricted units and a manager’s unit. Along with several other additions such as new utilities, sidewalks, driveway access, landscaping, a playground, and more.

The planning commission previously approved a subdivision and coastal development permit to create two separate parcels. Demolition of two existing residences and accessory structures was also proposed.

The Planning Commission meeting is set for Tuesday, October 22 at 6 PM at City Hall.
