Small Vegetation Fire in Manila, Fire Crews Save Structure

Manila, Ca. (KIEM)– A structure is saved out in Manila thanks to the quick response by fire crews.

Shortly after 7 p.m., fire personnel responded to reports of a vegetation fire off of New Navy Base Road in Manila.

According to Arcata Fire, the fire burned roughly a quarter of an acre, but crews were able to extinguish the flames quickly saving a nearby structure.

Right now, the cause of the fire is still under investigation. Fire crews will continue their investigation in the morning.

Arcata Fire, Samoa Peninsula Fire District, and Humboldt Bay Fire responded to the scene.
