Costco and WinCo to Stay Open During Power Shutoff

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — Local businesses were busy Friday as residents prepared and stocked up ahead of the public safety power shutoff. Some are even planning to stay open in the dark.

Cars lined up at Costco as people were rushing to fill up their gas tanks before the county goes dark.

According to Costco’s manager, they have generators and will stay open during the PSPS. Right now, they are planning to open early Saturday morning.

WinCo was busy too as people stocked up on food and water. According to WinCo staff, they have generators and plan to stay open as long as power is out.
