Eureka Police use Narcan to Revive Two People

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM) – Two people were revived in Eureka today after first responders administered life-saving efforts.

EPD officers responded to a parking lot around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1 at the 2500 block of 4th St.

Upon arrival, two people were found unresponsive and displaying signs of overdosing on an opioid.

An officer began administering Narcan to both people and one responded immediately, but the second person remained unresponsive.

Ambulance staff took over treatment when they arrived on scene and the unresponsive person was soon alert and breathing regularly.

Both people were transported to St. Joseph ER for further treatment and observation.
