HCOE Equity Summit Draws in Hundreds of Teachers

EUREKA (KIEM) – Both inside and outside of the classroom, teachers never stop learning. On Friday, hundreds of teachers came to this year’s equity summit where they focused on challenging issues that students.

“Unless we can have conversations about things and unless we can know the truth, and we can let out students tell their stories,” said HCOE Diversity and Inclusion Lead Monica Rivera.

Over 400 teachers from over thirty districts attended the 2019 Equity Summit. They addressed issues such as social justice, racial equity, inclusion, and the LGBTQ+ community, just to name a few.

This is the 2nd Annual Equity Summit.
