Eureka DMV Holds REAL ID Saturday Event

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM)- Residents flocked to the Eureka DMV for the REAL ID Saturday event.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., the DMV was open for a special REAL ID event and lines were out the door.

The office typically is closed on weekends, but this one-day only event was a way to encourage Humboldt County residents to apply for a REAL ID.

Starting October 1st 2020, those flying domestically must show a valid passport or other federally approved document, like a REAL ID driver’s license.

For those looking to apply for a REAL ID, you must visit a DMV office and bring a proof of identity, proof of your social security number and two proofs of California residency.
