Eureka Police Release 101 Safety Corridor Statistics for the Last Year

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — The Eureka Police Department, City of Eureka, and Humboldt County Association of Governments renew an agreement for patrols along the 101 Eureka-Arcata safety corridor.

The stretch of highway between Eureka and Arcata is patrolled by police to improve road safety and reduce the number of collisions. Over the course of the first year of the agreement, Eureka Police announce they have conducted over 1,400 traffic stops, given over 700 citations, and have made 47 arrests.

The department also released the top offender speeds by month. The highest was in March when a driver was stopped for going 88 in the 50 mile per hour zone.
