Eureka Public Works Crews Posted Around Intersections Raising Money for Breast Cancer

EUREKA (KIEM) – Even though it was foggy Thursday, drivers couldn’t miss Public Works Workers in their bright pink shirts who were raising money for breast cancer.

Crews were out at 7 A.M. on Thursday morning, sporting the neon shirts collecting money in their hard hats. They were posted on 6th and I Street, Henderson and California Street, and Harris and Central. The fundraiser was originally scheduled for October. But due to the public safety power shutoffs, it was pushed to November.

All the money raised will go towards Humboldt Breast and the GYN Health Project. This is the first year Public Works put together this fundraiser.
