National Parks Building in Crescent City is Evacuated

CRESCENT CITY, Ca. (KIEM) – Law enforcement evacuated the National Parks building in Crescent City because of a suspicious device.

Multiple law enforcement agencies worked together to create a perimeter and evacuate the building around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7.

Those agencies involved were: Crescent City Police Department, California Highway Patrol, Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office, and National Park Services.

Sergeant Gene McManus of the DNCSO determined the device was not an explosive. Officers identified the box as a transportation device for controlled substances that attaches to the bottom of a vehicle.
